Technologic Gazeby *The-BenT-One

This was a college project were we had to do a charcoal drawing which included an object we had been drawing for several weeks, along with ourselves. I went close up, and aimed for the creep-out factor.

Funny story: I asked

BastardSword to give me his opinion on this, and I had it behind a door. When I closed the door and he turned around, he got startled by the eyes.

The full size of this drawing is 30" by 30". I used vine and compressed charcoal over a period of 6 hours straight.

The eyes of the actual Benjamoid are tiny and steely, like those of an android rat assassin.

However, this is art, and therefore need not represent or resemble the semihuman original in any way.

The Technological Gaze looks, above all, trapped and miserable. What the hell are we all doing interacting with these fucking keyboards and screens hour after hour after hour? Detach! Unplug! Rebel! Shoot your computer like Han Solo shooting under the table! Less screen time, more green time!

Unfortunately, since I earn my living at this beast, I will not be taking my own radical advice until later in the day. But when freedom rings, man, I'm not clicking up some shit on the Internet, I'm getting out there into the woods. Huzzah! Like a naked Pict leaping through the brush!

Haaaaaaa, I remember that. I pooped a little. But once again, you really have to see this in person to get that awesome, unnerving feeling it gives off. THOSE... EYES.
