Based upon the Minions of Set from the Samurai Jack episode, "Jack in Egypt". Because these beasts were based upon the Set animal, or sha, with a bulkier build, it was easier to adapt them into a Mightyena evo, turning the wolflike canid into a fusion between the in-show character and a more classical werewolf. The name Sethyena comes from the alternate spelling/pronunciation of the Egyptian god of chaos and storms, Seth, with the typical "yena" suffix of its pre-evolved forms. Mightyena's mono-Dark typing and high base Attack score also made it a natural choice for the pre-evo from which this concept would arise. It was also designed to appear physically bulkier to differ itself from pre-existing and similar designs in Lucario and Zoruark.
